It was a warm, sunshine-saturated day as a calm, refreshing winter zephyr blew though the softball field behind Lot 18. This picturesque setting allowed for a blistering brouhaha between two groups of future professionals, heading into professions that tend to not get along: doctors and lawyers.
On one side of the field stood the nation’s future medical professionals, on the other, the people who might someday sue them for malpractice.
The Nov. 14 kickball match between the UNF Pre-Med and Pre-Law societies had all the makings of a deeply emotional, highly competitive …

Nov. 20 is National Kick a Ginger Day, campus gingers share their outlooks
Gingerism. Regardless of the tint of your luscious locks, most folks are familiar with the classification.
While at one time to be a ginger merely meant to behold the rare gift of being born with red hair, as of recent, this term has been disputed as being prejudice.

We always thought UNF’s derisive moniker “U Never Finish” summed up the short-comings of our beloved commuter school sufficiently. Apparently we can add “Ur Never Fired” as another sardonic sobriquet to describe our home for higher education.

Finally, circa age 19, I noticed an unshakable ringing in …

OK, so get this. A movie, yeah, alright, a movie based off of beloved kid-lit writer Roald Dahl’s ink. And the story centers around one of the most celebrated woodland creatures of all time — a fox. All while trotting alongside this loveable redhead’s adventures, bluegrass, Beach Boys and Jarvis-Cocker-turned-campfire-folk marches into your ear canals.
I know, right?
No, but really, too-adorable director Wes Anderson whipped up an engaging stop-motion film in “Fantastic Mr. Fox” that’s hard to complain about.
The story, should you …

A loyal husband and father leaves for work on the bus at 8 a.m. He won’t return to his wife and four children until 9 p.m., after a full day’s work at the Salvation Army, a company that pays him in food stamps.
Even with working 30 hours a week, he can’t make ends meet to pay his rent, utilities and the basics. His wife tends to their children, all elementary school-aged and younger, and the family’s language barrier prevents the father from securing a better paying job.
Ahmat Ibrahim, his wife, …
