Dinuzzo: Counseling center has always been understaffed
Students seeking nonemergency help at the UNF Counseling Center will most likely be placed on a waiting list because of an increase in enrollment and an understaffed office, Director Terry Dinuzzo said.
To solve this, the center seeks a 61 cent student fee increase for the 2010-2011 school year in order to hire three staff counselor positions.

GINA Robot fails to fetch all of ‘Mars Rocks’
A team of UNF students was one out of 17 finalists that competed their robots at the international 2009 American Society of Mechanical Engineers student design competition in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Nov. 15.

The Ospreys lost to Mercer 0-3 in-front of an electric crowd of nearly 300 students, fellow athletes and spectators, Nov. 7.
The game was the team’s first appearance in an Atlantic Sun conference playoff game.

The two separate departments are now better organized
As UNF grows, so must its departments, the UNF Physics Department Chair James Garner said.
Garner used to be the chemistry and physics department chair before it split into two separate departments July 1.
The old department outgrew itself, and the split was done primarily to obtain separate budgets and offices, Garner said.
The budgets are determined by each college separately and on a number of different factors, said Kenneth Laali, chair of the UNF Chemistry Department.

Katelin Swift, a physical education K-12 senior forward, currently leads the UNF women’s soccer team with 12 points, coming from 5 goals and 2 assists in seven games. Swift was born in Tampa Bay and has been playing soccer since age four. She has played for several clubs such as the Richmond Strikers, Richmond Capitals, JYS Fury and Clay County United.
