DeFreitas earns first Atlantic Sun Conference player of the week for UNF men’s soccer A UNF men’s soccer player earned the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week for the first time in the university’s history. Sophomore forward Akil DeFreitas scored three goals in the two conference match-ups against East Tennessee State University and University of South Carolina Upstate during the weekend. Full story

At a time when budget cuts are on everyone’s minds, one might wonder where the UNF athletic department plans to get the money for an estimated $30 million project called UNF Varsity Village. New Addition Sscores in First Game

A 1-1 double-overtime tie against the University of South Florida opened the season for the UNF women’s soccer team Aug. 22. In a game that was a battle of the goaltenders, UNF senior goalkeeper Rachael Howard prevented several close overtime goals, which would have ended the game. Full story
