UNF luckless against Irish

18 November 2009 No Comment Josh Gore

The UNF men’s struggled Saturday against an overmatched Notre Dame that fields future NBA star Luke Harangody.

Head coach Matt Driscoll said the atmosphere really wasn’t that hostile after losing 86-65 in South Bend.

“We were really only playing from media timeout to media timeout,” Driscoll said.

Although, the Ospreys did improve their shooting from the line.

Last week, against Ave Maria they shot 62 percent and against Notre Dame they were 80 percent.

“This isn’t the best statistic to compare because, we only had five free throws [against N.D.],” Driscoll said.
“We just weren’t getting fouled enough.”

Driscoll credits his team with being resilient and fighting hard even towards the end.

“We are looking forward to Savannah State Wednesday night,” he said. “And I expect even a bigger crowd than the Ave Maria game.”

The Savannah State game is Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the UNF Arena. It is UNF’s regular season home opener.
