BREAKING NEWS:UNF women advance to next round

The UNF women became the first #7 seed to ever win a game in Atlantic Sun tournament history, Wednesday night by defeating Mercer, 55-40.

The Ospreys depended heavily on point guard Brittany Kirkland fight through the Mercer defense.

And it was also the rebounding that got the girls through to the next round and breaking (0-21) streak held by the women’s 7th seed.

The Ospreys’ Kirkland finished the game with 25 points, a career high. She also led the team in minutes played with more than 35.

UNF will play Friday at 2:30 p.m. against an opponent TBA.
