Grandma’s Buzzworthy Bourbon Slush

13 April 2010

Grandma gives the best hugs, says the nicest things, throws the best Thanksgiving dinners and makes the best cookies … she also makes the best alcoholic beverage on which I’ve ever been snockered. Some families try to keep such succulent concoctions a secret, but I’m here to clue you in. So clear some space in your freezer for summer’s finest frozen booze:

You need:
2 cups boiling water
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
1 12-ounce can frozen orange juice
1 12-ounce can frozen lemonade
2 tea bags
2 cups bourbon
7 cups water
1 2-liter of lemon-lime soda

Then:
1) Make tea with boiling water.
2) Add remaining ingredients.
3) Mix and freeze
4) Add 7-up or Sprite when serving (and another shot of bourbon, shh, don’t tell Grandma)
