Cross contamination is hindering efforts to improve recycling at UNF despite new trash cans, recycle bins and raised student awareness, said Jerry Garner, assistant superintendent of the UNF Recycling/Refuse Center.

Gandhi supporters met on campus near the Gandhi statue Oct. 2, singing songs and presenting speeches about the beliefs and teachings of the peaceful leader.

About 30 volunteers from a humanitarian group met Oct. 4 to pick up litter and weed landscape beds around campus. Although students were allowed to sign up and participate, none showed.
