Nov. 8 – Drug and alcohol violation (Building V) – A UNF employee found a partially smoked marijuana cigarette on the bathroom sink counter during a health and safety inspection.
The room occupant denied possession of the substance and claimed there was not enough evidence to place the subject in constructive possession of the illegal substance.
Further examination of the room revealed a 750 ml bottle of tequila in the refrigerator.
Nov. 3 – Lost property (Building 39) – A UNF employee reported a lost Dell laptop computer missing.
He believed the computer was accidentally misplaced by faculty who are allowed to check out equipment for meetings.
Nov. 3 – Criminal mischief (Building 14) – A 2-foot long crack in the column wall and an indentation in the wall were found in the male restroom early Friday morning.
The damage appeared to be caused by a hit from a fist which knocked the plaster off of the edges of the column wall. There are no witnesses of the vandalism.
Oct. 15 – Burglary (Building 41) – UPD was dispatched to investigate a burglary from a vehicle.
Because of no forced entry into the vehicle, police concluded the vehicle was not locked. A parking decal was stolen.
There are no known suspects at this time.
Oct. 15 – Theft (Building 26) – The complainant caught a man stealing money from a locker room of the Aquatic Center. Police listed one suspect in the theft case. The suspect was also referred to Student Conduct.
Sept. 29 – Harassment (not specified) – A student made a complaint with UPD about her roommate sending her several threatening text messages and potentially starting a fight about something she said to her. UPD advised her to contact them if anything else should arise.
Sept. 30 – Sick person (Building 12) – UPD responded to a student who stated she was dizzy and about to faint. She was transported to the Mayo Clinic.
Sept. 30 – Suspicious behavior (Lot 12) – UPD was dispatched to investigate a student walking down UNF Drive. She stated she was going through personal issues and had not eaten in two days. After assessing her, she was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Sept. 14 – Criminal mischief (Lot 12) – UPD was dispatched to Lot 12 after profanity was written on the side of a student’s car door in permanent marker. UPD has no suspects.
Sept. 14 – Burglary (Lot 10) – A parking decal was stolen by forced entry. UPD has no suspects. Prints came back negative that were taken from the vehicle.
Sept. 15 – Burglary (Lot 10) – A parking decal was stolen by forced entry. The evidence was contaminated, so UPD has no suspects.
Sept. 5 – Sick person (Building V) – UPD was dispatched to Osprey Cove in reference to a possible drug overdose.
The complainant said he had taken 10 20 milligram Adderall in the last four days and felt like he was having a heart attack.
He did not have a prescription for the medication, and none were found in his room after it was searched. He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.
Aug. 7 – Grand theft (Building 1) – Three computers were stolen from a staff member after a student was sent to pick up 34 computers and take them to Building 1. UPD has no suspects.
Aug. 31 – Trespassing (Lot 11) – A student called UPD after five males jumped him and threw beer bottles at him when he tried to escape. The victim had cuts and abrasions covering his face. UPD spoke with the suspects, but none of them would admit to the allegations. There were no other witnesses at the time. None of the suspects were affiliated with the university and all were issued trespassing warrants.
Aug. 23 – Alcohol investigation (Building W) – During a routine property check at Osprey Landing, a UPD officer heard loud music coming from one of the rooms. Upon entering, the officer observed five students repeatedly entering and leaving the bathroom area. After a search of the bathroom and dorm room, 30 bottles and cans of beer were found. The suspects were referred to Student Conduct.
