Sept. 24 – Criminal Mischief (Building 41) – A student parked her car in Lot 3 and went to class. She returned to find that her car had been “keyed.” The roof, trunk, left front and rear door, and left rear quarter panel had all been damaged. The subjects are still unknown.

Sept. 12 – Criminal Mischief (Lot 55) An officer responded to the Osprey Fountains parking lot about a student who reported damage to his BMW. The gas cap was ripped out, and the driver’s side rear wheel was missing its BMW center cap. The student keeps the car covered with a tarp, so he is unsure when or how the incident happened, he said.

Sept. 14 – Property Damage (Building 41) A UNF student contacted UPD after driving past an on campus work crew. The work crew had driven a lawn mower over some rocks, which had been scattered in the air and hit her car. The rocks made several dents and scratches to the front passenger door. The case was cleared.
Sept. 15 – Petty Theft (Building 6) A supervisor in the grounds department contacted UPD after realizing his tiller was missing. A tiller is a tool used for maintaining landscaping, specifically flower beds. …

Student reports scratches on vehicle
Sept. 8 – Property Damage (Lot 18) A student called UPD after noticing a scratch with maroon paint on the driver’s door of his white Honda Civic. The car parked next to the Civic was a maroon Mitsubishi. The police officer did not notice any damage or scratches to the Mitsubishi. The officer left a note informing the owner the incident was reported and to expect to hear from the other complainant about repairs.

Aug. 27 – Burglary (Garage 44) – UPD responded to claims of there being a burglary in an automobile. The victim told police that he parked his vehicle on the second floor of Garage 44 at 10:30 a.m., and upon returning at 3 p.m., he discovered his parking decal was stolen. He said that he had locked his vehicle but noticed that a small corner of the rubber at the bottom of a window appeared to be loose. Aug. 25 – Grand Theft (Building 3) – UPD was dispatched in response to a professor’s stolen kayak. The kayak was chained and pad locked in the fenced area behind Building 50 May 20 and the professor did not return to notice it missing until Aug. 25. The professor said he uses the kayak as part of his course of instruction. Patrol efforts have been suspended.

July 2 – Stolen Property (Lot 18) – A student parked in Lot 18 noticed a UNF parking ticket on her car. When she left the vehicle, she had a parking decal hanging from her rear-view mirror, but upon returning, it was gone. She said the doors were locked, but she had left her passenger-side window down approximately 4 inches.

June 19 – Damaged Property (Lot 18) – UPD was dispatched to Lot 18 after a complaint that there was damage to some of the new information signs that were not yet installed around campus. There was an estimated $4,000 in damage, and the signs will have to be shipped back to a shop in Orlando to be repaired. The signs were in the dirt lot next to Lot 18.
