Feb. 25 – Battery/Possession (Building E) – UPD was dispatched to an area outside The Village regarding a loud disturbance, which turned out to be a dispute between a female student and her boyfriend.
While questioning her and the boyfriend, UPD found that the argument began in a dorm then moved outside, where the two began punching each other.
She was referred to Student Conduct and was issued a notice to appear for a glass pipe found in her dorm.

On the first day of class when professors hand out the syllabus, one particular regulation that can be found in most courses is the over-emphasized rule: “No cell phones.”
But with the vast increase in smartphone users, instructors around the nation are beginning to develop ways to increase the efficiency of classroom learning by utilizing the technology.

She spends the majority of her time in the bathroom, weighs herself daily and struggles with ongoing anxiety attacks.
While Mary is a fictional character, the symptoms she’s facing are anything but unusual for college students diagnosed with eating disorders.

During a series of meetings throughout the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters, the UNF Parking Services Council decided to make two changes to parking services: a night-time premium permit option and a chance for students working on campus to upgrade their discount permit to premium.

Grant Prather, a 26-year-old UNF student, fought long and hard with colon cancer, and his surviving family now takes solace that he is finally pain-free, his mother, Jo Anne McKinney said.
Prather died Feb. 28 from the disease, after undergoing multiple sessions of chemotherapy.
Upon reflection of her son’s life and accomplishments, McKinney said her son was the bravest person she knew.

The Interfaith Center and Student Government are sponsoring an international dinner March 5 to provide an opportunity for international and domestic students to come together and build relationships.

Three men are still missing after their boat capsized in the Gulf Coast Feb. 28. They face diminishing
survival odds after more than two days missing at sea.

Students returning from Spring Break who need to complete administrative paperwork will be in for a surprise – several key offices will be vacant.
During the break, several offices including One Stop, the Cashier’s Office and the Admissions Office will be moved to UNF Hall, though they are anticipated to be open for business upon students’ return from the break, Director of Admissions John Yancy said.
The phone banks will turn off March 13, which will disallow One Stop from accepting phone

Nearly 1,000 students attended Revamp, a two-day concert event sponsored by Campus Ministries Feb. 26-27 in the Arena.
Five bands, The Afters, Seventh Day Slumber, Story Side B, 10th Ave. North and KJ52 performed. Former Jacksonville Jaguar Tony Boselli also spoke. The event was free to UNF students and the surrounding community, as SG funded Revamp, which cost $40,000.
“We were very happy at the level of student participation at Revamp,” Student Body President John Barnes said. “It was also a wonderful way to reach out to the Jacksonville community.”
